NETRIGHT's movement building thematic area focuses on organisational and mobilisation strategies to effect change. The choice of activities is directed by the belief that information sharing, regular membership meetings, partnerships, collaboration and networking with similar minded organisations maximises resource utilisation to achieve results. Activities in this area include those designed to strengthen its internal capacity as a network, raise the knowledge base of staff and expand its policy engagement platforms.
NETRIGHT leads initiatives by the three Coalitions platform made up of the Domestic Violence Coalition, Women's Manifesto Coalition and NETRIGHT to engage all ruling governments in Ghana since 2010 through the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGSCP) and other sector ministries on economic, socio-cultural and political issues from a gender perspective.
End of Year Review of the Status of Women in Ghana and End of Year Event
The ‘End of Year Review of the Status of Women in Ghana’ is an institutionalised annual programme by NETRIGHT aimed at providing space for reflection, learning and sharing of critical national issues during the year and drawing out their gendered dimensions. A reviewer is engaged to present a paper analysing the situation of women at the international, continental and national level while focusing on the Ghanaian context.
NETRIGHT organises an End of Year Event at the end of each year to share its work and achievements/challenges during the year with a wider audience. The event also celebrates the achievement of women during the year and awards outstanding individuals and organisations that have contributed to the promotion of women’s rights and gender equality during the year.
NETRIGHT holds public forums to sensitize women groups, CSOs and stakeholders on National Topical issues like Energy, Social Protection, and Trade
As a membership organisation, the highest decision making body is the Annual General Meeting (AGM). The Network holds Annual General Meetings (AGM) at the close of its calendar year. The AGM enables the membership to examine priorities set during the year under review, evaluate achievements in relation to the mandate of NETRIGHT, and outlines challenges and key issues that should be prioritised for action in the ensuing year. Membership meetings also offer a platform for NETRIGHT members to discuss issues of importance to the network and women in general. It also serves as an opportunity for the secretariat to report on activities undertaken and thus keep members informed and abreast on issues and activities of NETRIGHT.
