Steering Committee

The Steering Committee (SC) is the next highest body after the AGM and is made up of nine (9) members who serve either in their individual capacities or as representatives of their organisations. The SC provides the leadership direction of the network and is responsible for implementing the decisions of the AGM. The SC is led by the Convenor and the Deputy Convenor who serve a three-year term and are eligible for re-election but cannot serve more than two terms.The SC is currently made up of:

Ms. Pauline Vande Pallen

Pauline is the Convenor of NETRIGHT. She is a Program Officer of the Gender Unit of the Third World Network (TWN) Africa.

Ms. Adwoa Sakyi

Adwoa is the deputy Convenor of NETRIGHT. She is a trade unionist and women’s rights activist who has been working in the labour front for over twenty years in the realm of women workers’ rights.

Dr. Akua O. Britwum

Akua is a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute for Development Studies at the University of Cape Coast. She holds a PhD in Union Governance and Globalisation from the University of Maastricht, The Netherlands.

Mrs. Dorcas Coker-Appiah

Dorcas is the Executive Director of Gender Studies and Human Rights Documentation Centre (Gender Centre). She is a lawyer by profession with over 20 years’ experience working to promote women’s rights at national, regional and international levels.

Dr. Rose Mensah-Kutin

Dr. Rose Mensah-Kutin is the Director of the Accra-based West African Regional Office of ABANTU for Development, a women’s rights organisation that works to promote gender responsiveness in policies in Ghana and Africa and hosts the Gender Action on Climate Change for Equality and Sustainability (GACCES).

Prof. Dzodzi Tsikata

Dzodzi is an Associate Professor and a Senior Research Fellow at the Institute of Statistical, Social and Economic Research (ISSER) at the University of Ghana, where she has worked since 1991. She currently serves as the Director of the Institute of African Studies at the University and is a past head of the Centre for Gender Studies and Advocacy (CEGENSA).

Dr. Akosua K. Darkwah

Akosua holds a doctorate degree in sociology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is currently a senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology at the University of Ghana. Broadly, her research interests are in the area of gender, globalization and the changing nature of work in the Ghanaian context.
