Impact Goal: Achieve a sustainable shift in gender transformative social policies and practices in Ghana.

Intermediate Outcome: Broad constituencies of women across Ghana mobilised and empowered to drive systemic change and demand for gender transformative social policy.

Objectives

This project aims to mobilize and empower broad constituencies of women and empower them to drive systemic change by demanding gender- transformative social policymaking.

Outcomes:
  1. Reshaped discourse on social policy making to prioritise gender transformative approaches and address the needs of women, youth and the marginalised.
  2. Increased advocacy on transformative social policy agenda

This is a two-year advocacy intervention which is mobilising broad constituencies of women across Ghana and empowering them to drive systemic change by demanding for gender transformative social policy. The project builds on NETRIGHT’s longstanding advocacy on promoting gender equality, women’s rights and economic justice. It leverages on the Gender Equitable and Transformative Social Policy for post-COVID-19 Africa (GETSPA) research findings to inform its advocacy interventions.

Project activities include convenings with diverse groups in a staggered approach that first generates discussion on Ghana’s socio-economic development agenda, particularly the current debt restructuring process and its implications for ordinary citizens, roundtable discussions, storytelling workshops policy dialogues, training sessions, the development of advocacy materials and the use of creative arts in advocacy such as advocacy flash mobs and media soirées
