The Network for Women’s Rights in Ghana (NETRIGHT) is calling for urgent action to secure justice for the girls of Obuasi Senior High Technical School following serious allegations of rape and sexual assault against the school’s headmaster, Mr. Zakaria Abdulai, featured in Manasseh Azure Awuni’s Hotline documentary, Inside the Dreaded Headmaster’s Bungalow.
NETRIGHT has expressed concern over the alleged abuse and the reported failure of institutions to protect the girls and support their pursuit of justice. The network has also criticised the NDC’s decision to clear Mr. Abdulai to contest the Juaben Constituency chairmanship despite the allegations.
NETRIGHT is calling for the matter to be referred to law enforcement authorities for investigation and prosecution where warranted, alongside stronger measures to protect students and end impunity for sexual abuse in schools.
